Maribor

A city to savor 😍. For some time now, I’ve found myself frequently drawn to Maribor. It possesses something special. A stroll along the tranquil Drava is akin to uncovering a hidden treasure. As we explore secret corners, we can fully relax, free of the daily masks we wear. This is our quiet oasis, where we can be alone with our thoughts 😀.

Maribor is full of landmarks that could be photographed. But often, I leave my camera at home. Rather than capturing every detail through the lens, I prefer to immerse myself in the moments. I revel in the splendid architecture, the old city core, and the riverside cafes.

Time in Maribor always seems to fly by. It feels as if there’s never enough time for all I’d like to experience. But instead of worrying about time, I focus on cherishing the good company. Simply put, I bask in shared moments, in relaxed conversations, in the warmth of camaraderie.

That’s Maribor to me. A city that offers a refuge from the everyday. A city that keeps inviting me back. A city where I enjoy being 🔥.

Photography Tips to Improve Your Shots:

1. Utilize natural light and timing

• Avoid direct sunlight at noon, as it can create harsh shadows and too much contrast in your photos. Instead, shoot in the early morning or late afternoon, when the light is softer and more tinted.
• Try to take advantage of times like the golden hour and blue hour when the light is even more magical. These hours offer warmer and more diffuse lighting conditions that can create a fairy-tale atmosphere in your shots.

2. Leverage the Reflection of the Drava River for Unique Shots

• When shooting near the Drava River, try to make use of its reflection. A reflection in the water can create picturesque symmetry or interesting plays of light and shadow.
• To create reflections, you can also use reflective surfaces such as windows, glass, or wet surfaces that can create a similar effect in your shots.

3. Play with Different Perspectives and Compositions

• Don’t limit yourself to common perspectives. Play with different angles, climb to higher points, or sit down on the ground to create more interesting and unique shots.
• Explore different compositional techniques such as the rule of thirds, symmetry, diagonals, or the use of frames. Play with the arrangement of elements in the frame to create visually appealing images.
With these tips, you can improve your photographs in Maribor. Remember, the most important thing is to enjoy the process and express your creativity through photographs.
